WHO WE ARE
Orodelti is a family business with more than a half of a century of experience producing premium-quality Cavendish bananas from Ecuador.
We are the second- and third-generation of one family working side-by-side in the production of bananas, shrimp, agricultural aerial application, fertilizers, plastic supplies for the banana industry, plastic recycling, transportation, technology and real estate development.
We inherited this devotion to our trade from our father and founder, Alberto Sigüenza, a self-made entrepreneur known for his hard work and integrity. For most of his life, he was recognized as a leading banana producer in Ecuador and garnered many awards for his efforts.

Exporting our heritage of growing premium bananas

Alberto Sigüenza (1997)
The spirit of the Ecuadorian banana grower
Once upon a time —and not so long ago— Ecuador was hardly given any consideration as a place that grows bananas.
It was during those days that Alberto Sigüenza migrated from the Andes to the coastal plains of Ecuador in the 1950s with little cash in his pockets and desperate to provide for his family. After a series of failed ventures, he purchased a small, disadvantaged farm and experimented with a new crop that was gaining popularity—bananas.
The new farm was anything but successful. Located at the foot of the Andes, the climate was too cold, and the nearby river frequently overflowed its banks. He often made the long journey to the docks in Guayaquil desperately trying to find a buyer for his fruit.
Guided by diligence and ethics, Alberto Sigüenza and his wife, Delia, survived, prospered, and soon incorporated into the business the talents of their children and grandchildren. Production expanded and eventually they allied with a large, multi-national fruit company.
Today our family business is built on the legacy left by Alberto Sigüenza, and ownership and direct management continues to remain in our hands. He is still remembered today for the high quality of fruit, his integrity, and dedication to the land and his employees. These are the same corporate philosophies that guide us today.

You can´t grow bananas from long distance
Orodelti stays competitive by cultivating a strong partnership with our customer.
Alberto Sigüenza was on site at his farms six days a week, because he knew banana plans require direct attention and care. The truth is that our customers are always in another hemisphere, yet we keep in constant contact. We maintain a steady dialogue through which we listen to the evolving needs and concerns of our client. Perhaps the customer wants to package our bananas under our brand or perhaps under his or her own. We can also meet any type of special needs regarding packing materials or delivery options. Orodelti’s objective is to adapt and meet the client’s needs so that can forge a long-term alliance.
Our operations are transparent, and we invite current and prospective clients to visit whenever possible. We also frequently visit our clients at their facilities, because we always want to develop a broader understanding of how can exceed their expectations.

Quality assurance means hands-on management.. everyday
If you’re searching for Ordoelti’s owners, you’ll most likely find them on site at one of our 10 farms covering 1,111 hectares near Guayaquil, Ecuador.
We appreciate that quality is one of our customers’ strongest concerns, and that is why we only export bananas from our own farms. Only the best fruit gets packed and always on the same day it gets sent to port. Finally, it ends up on the shelves of your local supermarket.

Logistics is more than just moving a reefer
Bananas are a commodity, and we compete with many other exporters.
Orodelti understands that our customers have choices, so we have to differentiate to succeed.
We have built strong partnerships with the leading logistics vendors in Ecuador, including those who provide us cardboard boxes, packing materials and transportation.
